ShadKASHTAN PETROLEUM Ltd. is a leading Ukrainian oil and gas producing company with a head office in Kyiv, Ukraine. The Company was established by Ukrainian JSC "Ukrnafta" and Canadian Corporation "Zhoda 2001" in 1995. With obtaining a licence on a commercial production of Lelyaky oilfield (Chernigiv region), which was on the final development stage, the Company started its operation.
Our main activities are:

• oil & natural gas supplementary exploration and production;
• forecasting, search and localization of unfinished sites of an oilfield during last stage of its development;
•  recovery of wells, which resources have been completely exhausted and which were in stand by period of more than 10 years, by carrying out of workovers and insulation works;
• application of modern industrial aggregates and equipment to exploration and production.

ShadThe daughter enterprise „Ukrgeophysika” was involved in carrying out additional seismic investigations on a deposit for the means of the Joint Venture, and since 2001 JV has begun drilling of new operational wells. Thus, in 2001 two new wells were placed in operation (## 184, 185), in 2003 - one more (# 186), in 2004 - one (# 187-b), in 2005 - three wells (### 301, 302, 305), in 2006 - one (# 303), in 2007 - one (# 306), and construction of one more well (# 304) is planned to be completed.
ShadAs a result, since 2001 the oil recovery in the field was stabilised after the long period of headlong fall. And since 2001 its growth has begun.
ShadIn 2003 a new Lelyaky oilfield redevelopment project was developed on the basis of the collected new data and materials of JV. It included solutions for recovery and development of the oilfield for the period till 2030. For that time it was the unique project which had been created on the basis of mathematical modelling of geological and hydrodynamic systems of an oilfield from the moment of its opening (1964) up to now.
Potentially prospective zones with the accumulated deposits of residual hydrocarbons were revealed and localised in the oilfield due to the creation of intellectual hydrodynamic model.
ShadExcept for drilling of new wells, technologies of renewal of the old abandoned wells are very effective. We managed to renew 5 wells untill 2001; in 2001 – 7 wells, in 2002 – 3 wells, in the first six months of 2003 - 4 more wells, 2007 – 2 wells. Each of them started to produce from 2 to 10 tone of additional oil per day.
ShadThe Joint Venture also solves issues of a surface infrastructure of the oilfield. Thus, in 2004 a new oil and gas collector of 8 km long was built and has been already placed in operation. Replacement of worn flow lines of wells, which have come to full unfitness because of internal corrosion and cause much damage to the environment and agriculture by numerical breakings and spills of aggressive liquids, has being carried out.
ShadIn 2007 JV „Kashtan Petroleum Ltd” completed building of a polyethylene pipe flow line, 700 m long, from well # 58 to GZU-1 in Lelyaky oilfield. It is the first pipeline made of the polyethylene, reinforced pipes of a high pressure for transportation of natural gas and oil in Ukraine.
